Your first ever deer stalking experience?

Viscount maintains high standards in the field to ensure that your deer stalking experience with us is both safe and ethical.

We ask our all novice clients to demonstrate safe rifle handling and shooting skills prior to stalking any live quarry.

All first time clients who do not have any previous deer stalking experience or hold DSC Level 1 are required to attend an afternoon induction course, followed by an evening high-seat session.

Our Deer Stalking Induction course has proved to be a huge success and provides a clear understanding of deer stalking objectives for both management and sporting purposes.

This short course covers the following areas:

  • species recognition
  • shooting seasons for the wild UK deer species
  • shot placement

Following the theory, you will then put your shooting skills to the test on our simulated deer stalking course, using our realistic steel deer silhouettes.

This practical knowledge can then be applied during the afternoon/evening stalking session where you will be given the opportunity to put these skills into practice.

Once you have completed this introductory course, you will be able to attend further stalking sessions with Viscount, with the same benefits as a DSC1 holder, plus have the confidence of a better understanding of your responsibilities in the field.

We provide estate rifles and ammunition. We cover you for Public Liability under our shooting specific insurance policy with NFU Mutual.

£300 per person including an evening stalking session.
